Do you enjoy laughing?  Well, be prepared to have a hooping good time with Mad About Hoops!  You’ll experiment with hoops of all sizes, learn some cool moves, play some hooping games, and come up with your own routines. There is no wrong way to hoop!

Hip Hop Party Dancing with Austin Dailey

This program is for children who enjoy moving and grooving to Hip Hop party music. Austin teaches kids about freestyle Hip Hop, party dance moves, break dancing, waving, robotics, line dances, vocabulary of the dance, and the history of the culture. This program encourages kids to dance, while building confidence and putting a smile on every face.

Literary Arts

Creating Stories of Myth and Magic with Lisa Worth Huber

Come celebrate the magic of stories.  We will create a storytelling circle where Lisa will share some traditional folk and fairy tales sure to spark the imagination. Together we will use the story threads from these ancient tales to weave our own stories, creating characters and situations that will delight, while laying the foundation for more advanced story construction.

Hand Drumming & Percussion with John Marshall

Explore a variety of rhythms and chants from around the world with award winning Master Percussionist John Marshall. Using an assortment of percussion instruments, including the West African djembe, North African dumbek and Afro-Cuban conga, you will learn traditional drumming patterns and create original arrangements that feature both solo and ensemble parts. Rhythms from the Middle East, Central Asia, Brazil, India and the Caribbean will also be presented. On the final day of class, family and friends are invited to join us for a concert.

Transform one of your favorite books into a play!  In this workshop you and your fellow cast members will write a play based on one of your favorite books, create a song to go with it, and paint and make all the set and prop pieces required for your show. Costumes will be designed and made by a professional costume designer!

Visual Arts

Interactive IKAT with Jenna Robb

Ikat is the process of using different colored dyes on yarn so that when woven together it creates a picture.  In this class we will create a picture and dye a giant piece of fabric. We will then learn to weave it all together as a group to make a large-scale amazing piece of art which will be exhibited for the public to enjoy.


Native American Crafts and Culture with Institute for American Indian Studies (IAIS)

Join IAIS Educators for afternoons filled with the creation of fun and fascinating American Indian inspired crafts, including decorated gourd rattles, mini dance sticks, mini mandellas and clay woodland animals.  We will also enjoy traditional American Indian games.

Eco Books with Terri Tibbatts

A book class with a GREEN twist! All our projects use recycled and upcycled materials. We will learn how to take everyday materials from around the house, flea markets, thrift stores, and hardware stores, and turn them into clever and eye-catching hand-made books; the final books  can then be used for school projects, journals or imaginative greeting cards.

Exploring the work of renowned artists throughout history we will explore the distinctive and varying styles and methods of painting and drawing. Students will then experiment with these styles and mediums to create their own unique works of art.
